Man United Transfer News: Manchester United make contact with Monaco’s highly-rated defender Benoit Badiashile to bolster the defence.
Manchester United is close to making a squad their fans always desired and to achieve it, there are still few positions the club need to fill in order to make a complete squad.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Manchester United is in contact with Monaco’s £25 million rated defender Benoit Badiashile to bolster the defence this summer.
The 19-year-old has been touted to be a great prospect and appeared 16 times for Monaco in the league this season, could’ve appeared more but Ligue 1 was called off with last 10 games remaining.
Apart from Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in hiring the services for the young Frenchman. Thus, it would probably depend upon Badiashile to make a call, since the price can be matched by all three clubs.
Predicaments of Manchester United’s defence
Even though Harry Maguire’s been criticized by Manchester United fans and neutrals, he has elevated the level of defending in the team. However, Victor Lindelof hasn’t kept a foot wrong but haven’t been extra-ordinary either.
Therefore, Manchester United needs to make signings to upgrade over Lindelof. Manchester United has found itself of out of option with Nathan Ake joining local rivals Manchester City.
Chances of Kalidou Koulibaily are there but nothing is concrete, especially considering that he will be expensive and the Red Devils also preparing the final move for Jadon Sancho.
But Manchester United need at least a single upgrade in defence and it would be better if it’s done to find a suitable partner for Maguire. Even the left-back spot needs attention, but Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams can be trusted for another season.
