Man Utd interim manager: The club will appoint a new interim manager to replace outgoing Jose Mourinho before the game against Cardiff.
Manchester United parted ways with Jose Mourinho earlier today. The club released an official statement over the departure of Jose Mourinho.
The club thanked Mourinho for his services, and wished him luck for his future endeavours. Jose Mourinho won three major trophies during his time at Manchester United.
He lifted the Community Shield, the EFL Cup and the Europa League with the side in his first season, and led United to a second-place finish in 2017/18. However, it all went in vain as lack of transfer activity and fall-out in relationship with players led to a poor 2018/19 campaign for United.
The side is currently 6th in the Premier League table and has scored only 26 points from 17 games.
Man Utd interim manager:
According to the official club statement, Manchester United are currently in the process of selecting a caretaker manager for the club.
MEN has now reported that the interim manager would be an external appointment, which negates the possibility of Michael Carrick, or Nicky Butt taking over the role.
