Man Utd News: Manchester United Legend set for a stunning return to Old Trafford

Man Utd News: Manchester United Legend set for a stunning return to Old Trafford, 5 years after leaving the club.

Manchester United Legend Nemanja Vidic is reportedly set to make a return to Old Trafford. The Centre Back who left for Inter Milan in 2014, has been offered the position of United’s Under 23 coach according to Vojvodina manager Nenad Lalatović.

Lalatović believes that the Serbian will be perfect for the job. He however, conceded that Vidic is yet to make a decision. Speaking to Bosnian channel ELTA TV, Lalatović said:

“He got an offer to coach Man Utd B. I told him that’s perfect for him if he wants to coach, but he hasn’t decided yet.”

Manchester United have been without an Under 23 coach since the dismissal of Ricky Sbragia. Nicky Butt, the youth academy’s head of coaching, axed the 63-year-old Scotsman after the team finished sixth in division two of the Premier League 2.

Nemanja Vidić

Vidić was widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the world. He earned the reputation due to his defensive consistency and awareness, as well as his strength, leadership, and ability in the air. Vidić established a prominent defensive partnership with Rio Ferdinand during his time in Manchester United.

Vidić was selected as the team captain of Manchester United at the start of the 2010–11 season. His captaincy ran over the course of three seasons, until his departure in July 2014. He left for Inter Milan in 2014 and retired 2 years later in 2016 due to a hernia injury.

In his time at Manchester United, Vidić won three consecutive Premier League titles (five titles in total), the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Club Cup, three League Cup medals. In the 2008–09 season, he was awarded the Premier League Player of the Season award. He clinched his second award three seasons later, becoming the first defender to achieve this, and the third overall behind Thierry Henry and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
