Man Utd News: Red Devils in talks with former Premier League manager to replace Solskjaer following a disappointing run in the Premier League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first full season as Manchester United has been far from ideal for the Norwegian. Losses to Manchester City and Liverpool have not helped his cause. It appears that the club legend is now living on borrowed time. Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino was sacked last year, months after leading Spurs to their first ever Champions League final. However, in the months since, the side underperformed, leading for his ouster from the club. The Argentine was in the reckoning for the top job at Old Trafford last season after Jose Mourinho was removed. However, Solskjaer’s impressive showing as Interim boss saw him get the job instead.
Manchester United want Mauricio Pochettino; the Former Spurs boss interested
Ironically, with Mourinho taking his job at North London, United have now approached Mauricio Pochettino according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla. The report adds that the Argentine is also keen to step back into the managerial role with United.
#Pochettino– #ManUtd, it’ll be yes next summer, but he asks guarantees on market. #Allegri waits…

However, Pochettino will only take the job if he is assured that he will be given full control over transfer talks. An understandable demand; considering how often he clashed with Daniel Levy over having no control over the players that were bought in.
Jose Mourinho has also spoken about the problems he had brining in the players he wanted while he was at Manchester United. Knowing this, Pochettino doesn’t want to be strangled like his predecessor; or feel hamstrung by Ed Woodward just as he felt under Daniel Levy.
Manchester United have publicly backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on several occasions. However, the club are aware that a proven manager such as Pochettino will not be without a club for too long. Max Allegri is another manager that the club have kept in their list as the men that could take over from Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
