Man Utd ‘to fine Pogba’: Manchester United are set to fine Paul Pogba for his controversial tweet following the departure of Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United parted ways with Jose Mourinho two days after the 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield. The club announced the decision through their social media handles.
United also appointed former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim manager unti the end of the season earlier today.
Jose Mourinho’s third season at Manchester United was largely marred with controversies. The tussle between Mourinho and midfielder Paul Pogba headlined the newspapers throughout the season.
The fall-out in their relationship became apparent after Pogba criticised Mourinho’s tactics in a mixed-zone interview. The duo was later caught having an intense argument during a training session.
As the departure of Jose Mourinho was announced, Paul Pogba tweeted a rather controversial tweet, which drew a backlash from fans, journalist, former club players and pundits alike. And it is likely that the club is set to take action against the midfielder.
Paul Pogba ‘to be fined’:
The Manchester United midfielder is set to be fined for the social media post following the departure of Jose Mourinho, according to English outlet Daily Mail.
Pogba posted a picture of himself throwing a chuckle, with a caption, “Caption this.”
Adidas cleared the air around Pogba’s controversial post, stating that it was scheduled, but former Manchester United star Gary Neville thundered down at Pogba.
Confirmed by contact within @adidassoccer: “#Pogba‘s social media posts were a scheduled event, part of a marketing campaign. Immediately taken down once it became apparent that it could be misconstrued as disrespectful to Manchester United and José Mourinho”

“Manchester United are a better team with Paul Pogba in it, but I do believe that, this morning, to dance on the grave of the manager who’s just been sacked is out of order,” Gary Neville said on Sky Sports.
The relationship between Paul #Pogba and José #Mourinho was destroyed by months. The decision to sack the Special One made clear the strategy of Man United: the club want to give confidence to Pogba, #MUFC are now absolutely convinced he’ll NOT be sold on next January. 🔴🇫🇷

The Manchester United bosses are not impressed with the ‘disrespectful’ post from Paul Pogba, and are set to fine him.
Don’t really give a shit about Pogba’s social media nonsense. Him and many of these guys in the squad now have nowhere to hide. Mourinho is gone. Let’s see what these guys have in their locker over the next six months. Not expecting an unbeaten run but let’s see about the effort.

The relationship between the French midfielder and Jose Mourinho took a hit over the last 12 months, and hit rock bottom in this season after Mourinho stripped him of the vice-captaincy, and eventually benched him for the game against Liverpool.
What next?
The new Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has worked with Paul Pogba during his youth career at the club. Solskjaer has been appreciative of Pogba, stating in the beginning of the season that he would build his United team around him.
