Man Utd Transfer News: Barcelona superstar snubs Manchester United despite massive interest

Man Utd Transfer News: Barcelona superstar Ivan Rakitic snubs Manchester United despite massive interest from the Red Devils.

Manchester United are massively interested in landing Ivan Rakitic from Bacelona, as Manchester United require immediate reinforcements in the midfield after an underwhelming campaign in the previous season.

However, in recent advancements, according to a report by the Daily Star, Rakitic has snubbed interests from Manchester United as the Red Devils will not be participating in the next edition of the Champions league.

It looks quite reasonable from the Barcelona midfielder, as he entered into the last phase of his career, and has been continuously performing at the top level ever since joining the Catalan club.

The Croatian International seemed as an appropriate addition in the team to Ole Solskjaer to fill the void created after the departure of Ander Herrera. Additionally, speculations of Paul Pogba leaving Old Trafford are also alarming.

Thus, making the 31-year-old midfielder a viable option for Ole Solskjaer to fix the squad ahead of next season. Manchester United reportedly did make an offer for the player but the club still awaits a response.

However, Manchester United can still keep their hopes alive for the player, as Barcelona might offload certain players from the squad this season.

Further, over-packed midfield in the Catalan squad and arrival of Frankie De Jong and promotion of Riqui Puig will bring Rakitic lower in the pecking order.

Therefore, it would be wise if Rakitic could look at better prospects over his possibility of being forced out of Nou Camp. However, considering Manchester United have very less to offer for the next season, Rakitic might look at other offers.
