Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has set a transfer deadline to sell the crop of players in the near future.
Manchester United’s squad required repair in order to challenge for the league title again. The whole roster is in a mess after the collective failure to produce results week in week out after the failure to qualify for the Champions League.
The whole squad needs a revamp and multiple faces should be brought in multiple positions. Ander Herrera has asked Solskjaer to follow the blueprint of Liverpool to challenge for the major trophies again.
There are various incomings and outgoing expected in this summer transfer window, but it would take time to clear the average bunch. According to the reliable Manchester Evening News, the Norwegian has told the club to clear out the deadwoods before the start of 2020/21 season.
It is merely impossible for any club to clear out everybody in a single transfer window. Understanding the situation, he has told the club to act swiftly as soon as possible and bring the players he desires to reach the pinnacle of English football again.
Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera have already confirmed their departure from the club this summer. While the board will listen to the offers for Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo, and Romelu Lukaku to save their value.
The Red Devils have an opportunity to activate a one-year clause in Nemanja Matic’s contract, but the club will decide against this decision. Ashley Young has been announced as the skipper for next season, but he will leave the club next summer after catastrophic performances lately. Solskjaer will be hoping to ship off Phil Jones and Chris Smalling next summer in a massive overhaul.
The club has agreed a deal to sign winger Daniel James from Swansea City for 15 million. The likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Aaron Wan Bissaka, Harry Maguire, and Sean Longstaff have been linked with the club in recent days. It will take some doing to get all these four, although United remain hopeful of signing at least two.
