Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is readying a bid for £88 million rated La Liga midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United are leading the way for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. The Argentinian was highly rated at Paris Saint Germain, but he chose to move away on loan with the Spanish side. He further impressed under the management of Quique Setién and earned a permanent deal.
Still, 23 years of age, the Real Betis midfielder has room for improvement and will work on his consistency. He needs proper guidance and could join the Red Devils as Solskjaer is installing youth philosophy at Old Trafford. He fits the bill perfectly and could provide the much-needed legs in the middle of the park with tireless runs.
Few days before, Marca reported that Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs had a £52 million bid turned down by the club. The Argentinian was trying to lure his compatriot to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but that particular offer was turned down as Real Betis hope for an auction for their midfielder. Christian Eriksen looks likely to move to Real Madrid after refusing to extend his contract with the London outfit. Should he move to Santiago Bernabeu, Spurs will go for Lo Celso at all cost.
On the other hand, Manchester United need a revamp in almost all positions. Solskjaer is eyeing a deal for the 23-year-old who has the ability to make runs up and down the pitch. He works hard in the defensive and attacking aspect, thereby providing a much-needed balance which the Red Devils have lacked in recent years.
Learning the interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid, Real Betis are looking to recoup £88 million, amounts nearly four times which they paid to PSG last summer. The French champions will be owed 20% of any fee Betis make, though ideally, they would like to keep their star man for one more season.
Lo Celso has scored nine goals and assisted five more in 32 league appearances this season for Betis and is rated highly across Europe.
