Silva has played against and along with several players in his time at Manchester City and has consistently competed against the best of players in the league.
However, there is always room for admiration, and the same was shown by Silva. A fan on the Reddit asked him “Who’s the best premier league player of your era?”
To which Silva gave a clear answer unlike in the other questions where he mentioned 2-3 players to balance the book. “There have been many, but I’ll say, Frank Lampard, especially because I played at the same time as him for many years.
“Apart from the statistics, he racked up and how he played, he’s an incredible person,” replied Silva. Lampard has been a fierce competition of Silva ever since the Spaniard entered England.
The Chelsea legend amassed numbers in bulk and is considered among the best midfielders to grace the game in modern times. Silva also got a chance to team up with Lampard when the latter made a loan move to Manchester City.
Although it was brief and Lampard was past his prime when he joined Manchester City, but it was joyful to watch and probably it elevated the admiration of Silva for the former English International as they both shared the dressing room.
