Manchester United contract news: Alexis Sanchez’s wages is reportedly blocking new deals for Anthony Martial and David De Gea.

Manchester United registered a comeback victory against Bournemouth, as Marcus Rashford’s winner sealed three points for the team.

United trailed within the first 15 minutes but soon equalized through a great ball from Alexis Sanchez, which was converted by Anthony Martial. This was Martial’s fifth goal in the last five games for the club.

Marcus Rashford came painfully close to give United the lead in the second half, but missed the chance in a rather embarrassing fashion. However, the English youngster made amends in the injury time, as he laid on a terrific cross from Paul Pogba and beat Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

United are 7th in the Premier League table, and only two points far from entering the top-5. Outside the field, however, things don’t look as positive for the side.

Manchester United contract news:

Manchester United signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in an exchange deal, as Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined the Gunners. The Chilean is currently on a stunning 400,000 pounds/week deal, which makes him the highest paid player at the club at the moment.

His wages, however, are creating a problem for the board in offering new contracts to two of United’s star players, Anthony Martial and David De Gea.

Both the players have stepped up for Manchester United this season. De Gea has been consistent for years at the club, while Martial has scored five goals in the last four Premier League games for the side.

Both the players are currently negotiating new contracts with the club, and speculations also suggested that Juventus is eyeing a move for the Spanish goalkeeper.

However, the agents of both the players have asked the club to raise their wages, pointing towards Sanchez’s weekly salary.

Sunday Mirror claims that David De Gea’s agent is looking for 300,000 pounds/week, while Martial’s agent continues to play the hardball.

What next?

Nothing has been confirmed over the futures of both the stars. Jose Mourinho, however, has stated that he wants Anthony Martial to stay at the club.

“I hope we will agree. He is a talented player – everybody has known that since he was at Monaco,” Mourinho said ahead of Bournemouth game.
