Solskjaer provided the Man Utd team news for the game against West Ham United in the league fixture. We take a look at their predicted line up.
Manchester United will aim to return to winning ways when they take on West Ham United in the Premier League.
The side has lost four of their last five games, including the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Barcelona. Luke Shaw’s own goal remained the sole difference between the two sides as Solskjaer’s side will enter the Camp Nou to do a repeat of their second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
As United prepares for the clash against West Ham, Solskjaer provided the team update for the clash. The manager stated that Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera are set to miss the weekend action as well, with latter’s issues with a new contract also discussed in the press conference. Alexis Sanchez, meanwhile, is recovering but not fully fit.
Let’s take a look at the predicted line up for the clash:
Manchester United roster: Predicted line up vs West Ham
Goalkeeper – David De Gea
Manchester United will face an uphill task as they aim to secure a top-4 berth in the Premier League. The side is currently sixth in the Premier League, albeit with a game’s advantage over Arsenal.
And this is why, Solskjaer is likely to field David De Gea for the game, who has been a key figure in Manchester United’s campaign so far.
Defence: Dalot, Smalling, Lindelof, Rojo
With Ashley Young and Luke Shaw unavailable for the game on Saturday, Diogo Dalot could get a second consecutive start. The Portuguese defender was named in the starting XI in the game against Barcelona as well.
Marcos Rojo could make a rare appearance in the place of Luke Shaw, who will serve a two-match ban.
Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof were impressive in the game against Barcelona and Solskjaer would want his two top centre-backs to hold fort as United chases a top-4 finish.
Midfield: McTominay, Fred, Pogba
Even when Solskjaer suggested that there could be changes, we believe that fielding out a best possible midfield is important in this clash for the side’s chances for the top-4.
Scott McTominay was the best player on the pitch against Barcelona, and Fred contributed with efficient defensive duties. Even when Pogba struggled in his attacking play, the midfielder kept Sergio Busquets at bay and showed signs of promise.
Attack: Martial, Rashford, Lingard
Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard were on the bench for the game against Barcelona and could return to the starting XI this weekend.
Marcus Rashford will aim to put his disappointing performance against Barcelona past him and get back among the goals against West Ham, before travelling to Camp Nou for the second leg.
Manchester United predicted line up vs West Ham:
De Gea; Dalot, Smalling, Lindelof, Rojo; McTominay, Fred, Pogba; Lingard, Rashford, Martial

Play Dalot RB & play O’Connor LB. But I’m getting a feeling we will see Jones at RB & Rojo or Darmian playing LB. https://t.co/x8JV7o9WIb

Full backs against Barca?
Rojo and Dalot for me. Rojo can whip in those crosses and has decent pace. Jones did a decent job as RB against Madrid, Bailly has pace and has played RB before. Darmian is too slow. All of them can do a better job than Young.
what about you guys?#MUFC— Pulkit (@OleTrain) April 11, 2019
No Luke Shaw tomorrow is a massive blow. I get the impression Marcos Rojo is due to start at left-back. No idea who’ll play in Ashley Young’s right-back slot, hoping it’s Diogo Dalot. #mufc
