Joshua Bohui to Barcelona

Joshua Bohui is attracting interest from a host of European clubs. 

Manchester United face an uphill battle to keep their teenage sensation Joshua Bohui at their club. The 19-year-old forward has refused to put pen to paper on a new contract which has caught the attention of Barcelona and AS Monaco who are looking him to lure him away from Old Trafford, according to the English outlet Mirror.

Signed for Brentford in 2015, the English outfit offered him a contract last summer which was turned down by the English International. When the club tried to negotiate with him a month later, by that time he has made his mind that his future lies elsewhere.

Bohui has already played for England’s Under-17 squad and was part of the European Championship as well. He has been scoring tons of goals in the junior level for United which has certainly grabbed the attention of plenty of scouts.

Born in London, he also has the opportunity to represent Ivory Coast in the senior level because of parentage.

Now that he is part of the Under-23 squad, the forward’s numbers are pretty much decent, scoring 5 goals and assisting another two to his name from 17 games in all competitions. He was also part of the few youngsters who had the chance to play for the senior team in the preseason friendlies at the United States last summer.

Bohui has been dubbed as the new Ashley Cole because he has the ability to drift down wide and play as an attacker or a defender through the left flank. He is one of the highly rated youngsters coming through the youth setup alongside Tahith Chong and Nishan Burkant.

It has been a habit for English youngsters to move away from their home country to take their game to the next level and move back home again.

The likes of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson quit their club to get a move to Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim. Most recently, Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz left the Citizens Academy to join Real Madrid.

Manchester United must make use of Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, and Joshua Bohui to the fullest and not miss out on youngsters like Manchester City.

There is certainly no shortage of offers from abroad for the youngster who will be assessing at the end of the season to make a move.

AS Monaco could be a dream location for the young players who have the habit of nurturing the youngsters.
