KKR vs SRH match in IPL 2019

KKR vs SRH match in IPL 2019: Sportsrush presents before you the full Match Prediction of the second match of IPL 2019.

The IPL 2019 kick-started with a low-scoring encounter between the Chennai Super Kings and
the Royal Challengers Bangalore with the defending champions, CSK winning a rather sluggish
game.

The IPL now moves on to the second encounter, between Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers
Hyderabad which promises to be a thriller. The day game will be played at the historic Eden
Gardens, the home stadium of KKR. The last time these two sides met in Kolkata was in the
Qualifier 2 last season, where SunRisers Hyderabad edged the home team by 14 runs to advance
to the final.

With that being said, KKR will be looking for redemption, after losing twice to SRH in both the
games the team played at the Eden Gardens. Overall, in 15 games, the Knight Riders have the
upper hand, winning 9 games while SunRisers have won 6.

SunRisers Hyderabad will be bolstered by the return of seasoned campaigner, David Warner,
who also has scored 381 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, with Warner
returning after a one-year ban due to the ball-tampering controversy, it will be interesting to see
whether the Aussie superstar can play his way back into form.

Kane Williamson’s absence to affect SRH?

Skipper Kane Williamson will be missing out due to injury which will make way for Jonny
Bairstow to make his IPL debut. The Englishman has been a revelation as an opener in limited
overs cricket, and will be a threat for all the KKR bowlers.

On the other hand, KKR will be heavily reliant on their top-order consisting of hard-hitting
openers in the form of Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine. They are expected to be followed by
experienced local batters in Robin Uthappa and Dinesh Karthik, with the former having scored
391 runs against the SunRisers Hyderabad.

Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav have picked up 10 wickets each against SunRisers. However, it
is Bhuvneshwar Kumar that tops the wicket charts in the encounters between both teams, picking
up 17 wickets. SRH will also benefit from the leg-spinning wizardry of Rashid Khan, who was
Man of the Match in the last encounter between the two sides.

Both KKR and SRH have brought up brilliantly balanced squads for this season which will
provide for an enthralling contest at the Eden Gardens. However, the injury to Kane Williamson
and David Warner returning after a one-year ban might hurt SunRisers’ prowess with the bat.

Moving into the game, KKR head into the game as favorites, but they will have to overcome a
strong SRH bowling unit featuring Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to conquer last year’s
runners-up.
