Matic trolls Chelsea fan: Manchester United are struggling with form, and rival fans are taking digs over United players. 

Manchester United are going through a bad run of form, with the club losing two of the first three Premier League matches. Earlier this week, Manchester United were crushed 3-0 at home by Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The fans have divided opinions over Jose Mourinho and Manchester United’s board is under scrutiny for lack of signings. There have been reports in the British media over United board rejecting Mourinho’s list of players.

The rival fans, however, are enjoying United’s rough patch, trolling the manager and players on social media. One such Chelsea fan posted Nemanja Matic’s image with the Premier League trophy at Stamford Bridge, with the caption, ‘When you know it’s your last one.’

The Serbian midfielder won two Premier League titles during his time at Chelsea, before joining Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Chelsea endured a tough 2017/18 season under the-then manager Antonio Conte. The Blues finished fifth and misses out on the Champions League spot.

The draw for Europe’s premier continental tournament took place on Thursday. Manchester United drew Juventus, Valencia and BSC Young Boys in the Group H of the Champions League. Chelsea, on the other hand, were drawn with PAOK, BATE Borisov and Vidi in Europa League.

Chelsea underwent a managerial change during the summer, with Maurizio Sarri replacing the Italian. In their match against Newcastle last week, the Stamford Bridge faithful saw a glimpse of the much-anticipated ‘Sarri-ball’, as Chelsea dominated a staggering 81% of ball possession.

Jose Mourinho’s side, on the other hand, will aim at heading to the international break with three points against Burnley.
