Raiola knows best!
Barcelona and Ajax had finalised a €75m transfer deal for De Ligt to join the Blaugrana. However, the young defender’s agent was reportedly unhappy with the footballer’s salary. The radio network reported that he asked for a salary higher than that of Frenkie De Jong and argued that De Ligt had other important offers.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu apparently tried to intervene in the discussions as he did with Frenkie de Jong. He tried to get Matthijs De Ligt to agree to a deal which he had previously rejected but failed as the defender vehemently agreed with whatever his agent asked of him.

De Ligt reportedly has offers from PSG, Juventus and Bayern. With Barcelona out of the running, it will be interesting to see which of the three European Giants he turns up for.
However, If what Barcelona thinks of their rejection is true and Raiola’s decision is purely economical, it is most likely that the star defender will trade his red and whites for the French Capital blues. After all, the Parisian club does have pockets that run quite deep.
