Massimiliano Allegri has claimed that he would take a sabbatical before taking over a club.
Massimiliano Allegri has stated that he would take a year off before managing a club. The Italian International is currently without a job, but iterated that last 16 years have been like a ‘spin-dryer’.
The 51-year-old left Juventus by mutual consent following the Champions League failure. The Old Lady brought an away goal to Turin, but Ajax beat them dramatically by coming back from a two-goal deficit, after Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the Quarterfinal second leg. Atalanta blew Juventus away in the Quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia to pile further misery on the Italian side.
Those two games ensured Allegri’s predetermined exit from the club when the Italian top flight season concluded. It marked the culmination of a five-year stay at Allianz Stadium for the former AC Milan manager.
Maurizio Sarri is within close range of succeeding his compatriot after Chelsea’s empowering to leave the reigning Europa League winners.
Simultaneously, Massimiliano Allegri has been linked with Chelsea. The Blues have been searching for a replacement for the outgoing Italian, and saw the former Juventus gaffer as a possible candidate to approach.
In spite of that, the 51-year-old has played down those rumours by stating his resolution to take a sabbatical for a year.
“I’m going to take a year off to recharge the batteries and take my personal life back in hand. The last 16 years have felt like being in a spin-dryer.” Allegri said at an event in Milan.
AC Milan have struggled for Champions League Qualification since Massimiliano Allegri’s departure. He has gone on to win five straight Serie A titles, an achievement which should be evaluated as an extraordinary outcome, regardless of the Champions League consequence.
Chelsea are set to invite Frank Lampard as the next permanent manager to Stamford Bridge. The Derby county boss looks likely to take over the club and an official announcement is expected in the next few hours.

What’s next?
Frank Lampard does not have age in his side, but he could build his own legacy at Stamford Bridge. With no transfers for the next year, the Chelsea legend will have a huge chance to mark his superiority.
