Medhi Benatia to Manchester United: The club is reportedly set to make a move for Juventus centre-back Medhi Benatia.

Manchester United have been in good form since the last few weeks. Mourinho’s side is unbeaten in the Premier League since their comeback against Newcastle United. United displayed an impressive performance in a 2-2 draw against Chelsea, and defeated Everton and Bournemouth, who are both performing reasonably good in the league.

Anthony Martial is in a stunning form as the forward has scored 5 goals in the last four league games.

Jose Mourinho would aim to capitalize on side’s impressive form as they face Juventus in the Champions League clash in Turin. In their game at Old Trafford, Paolo Dybala’s first half goal made the sole difference between the two sides.

In the transfer market, Manchester United are keeping tabs on central defenders, and one of the latest names to add to Mourinho’s wishlist is Juventus’ Medhi Benatia.

Medhi Benatia to Manchester United:

Benatia has not been a regular for Juventus this season and he has admitted that it is impacting his consistency. The defender stated that he will wait for January and see his situation at the club, and will take a decision on his future in the side.

“I struggle to play with no consistency. I was doing well last season because I was playing on a regular basis,” Benatia said.

“Let’s see if Juve and (Massimiliano) Allegri need me. I am here to give my best and that’s what I will do until I’m here. If the mister will need me in the Champions League I will be ready.”

Manchester United, who have suffered majorly due to lack of quality in central defence over the last few years, have now switched to Benatia. It is reported by Italian outlet Tuttosport that United is keen on signing the defender from Juventus.

After a dip in form for Eric Bailly, the current first-team centre-back pairing consists of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof. While Lindelof impressed for the side in the game against Juventus, Smalling has suffered with inconsistency.

What next?

Manchester United will face Juventus in the Champions League on October 7, and will return to the Premier League as they face their city rivals, Manchester City.
