MI vs RCB Man of the Match

MI vs RCB Man of the Match: Mumbai Indians fast bowler was declared the Man of the Match for his incredible spell vs RCB.

During the 31st match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mumbai, Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets to register their fifth IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 172-run target, Mumbai Indians thrived on the back of impressive batting performances from wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock (40) and in-form all-rounder Hardik Pandya (37*).

With the wicket starting to turn in the second innings, proceedings weren’t really easy for Royal Challengers. The visitors’ spinner-duo of Moeen Ali and Yuzvendra Chahal had conceded only 45 runs for four wickets in the middle overs which changed the course of the match.

However, it was another Hardik Pandya cameo which saw Mumbai sealing the chase with an over to spare.

After Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and put RCB in to bat, the visitors ended up scoring 171/7 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the third over, AB de Villiers was the highest run-scorer for Bangalore. Before getting out in the last over, de Villiers ended up scoring 75 (51) with the help of six fours and four sixes.

With bowling figures of 4-0-31-4, veteran fast bowler Lasith Malinga was the pick of Royal Challengers’ bowlers. It was in the 18th over when Malinga made sure that Royal Challengers don’t force the attack on Mumbai in the slog overs.

Having dismissed Ali (50) and Marcus Stoinis (0) in the same over, the legendary bowler sent back Akshdeep Nath (2) and Negi (0) in the last over. Malinga was declared the Man of the Match for his game-changing spell.
