Michael Jordan celebrated new years in an insane way

Michael Jordan has been declared as the wealthiest American sportsperson of all time by Forbes, with an estimated worth of $1.7 billion.

In the list released by Forbes in December, Jordan sore in the rankings, thanks to his investment in the highly lucrative Charlotte Hornets and is evergreen and highly profitable ‘Air Jordan’ sneakers.

Jordan’s net worth rose from $300 million to a massive $1.7 billion, largely thanks to the increase in worth of the Charlotte Hornets, where Jordan has a 90% stake.

Charlotte Hornets(and in fact all NBA teams) have seen a surge in valuation thanks to the increase in revenue from television rights.

Michael Jordan has been in the news in the last few days, largely because of LeBron’s comments about considering himself as the greatest player of all time in an interview that was released on his 34th birthday.

LeBron explained that he felt like the greatest player of all time after having completed a ridiculous comeback over the Warriors in the NBA finals in 2016, wherein the Cavs were down by 3-1.

Since then the NBA fraternity has been calling out LeBron for having said a very immature statement with respect to the GOAT debate.

A video of Michael Jordan responding to the GOAT debate has also surfaced wherein he confirmed that he couldn’t take the title of the GOAT, as that would be disrespectful towards other legends of the game that played the game before he did.

Now, when you have that kind of cash in the bank, you won’t mind splurging a lot for a wonderful New year’s celebration.

According to TMZ, Michael Jordan begun 2019 in emphatic fashion, partying and chilling on a $80 million yacht off the coast of St. Barths.

The luxury yacht has a 8 cabins, a bar, dining room, full gym, deck Jacuzzi and a Basketball court(of course).

The yacht is basically a mansion on water and is generally rented out for $840,000 per week.

With a $1.7 billion valuation, that must be peanuts for Jordan.
