Milan Skriniar to Barcelona: The Catalan giants make fresh contact with Inter Milan over the signing of Milan Skriniar.
Barcelona have had issues with their central defence since the beginning of the new season. Gerard Pique is struggling with form, and a ‘severe injury‘ to Samuel Umtiti has pushed the club further behind.

Even when Barca signed Clement Lenglet from Sevilla this season, Barcelona are still in the market for a central defender. According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have made contact with Inter Milan over a potential transfer for Milan Skriniar.
Skriniar was linked with Barcelona in the summer transfer window as well, but no deal was put on the table by the Catalan giants. Now, it seems like Barcelona are ready to reignite their interest in the player.

Skriniar has been one of the key players for Inter Milan in the last season. He made 40 appearances for the Milan outfit, scoring four goals, and was prominent in the central defence for the Italian side.
The defender’s performance has attracted interested from other top European clubs as well. Both the Manchester clubs were also linked with a potential move for Skriniar in the summer transfer window.
Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo, are also eyeing the defender, and see him as a quality buy if they fail to capture the transfer for Ajax’s Mathijs de Ligt.

Inter Milan, meanwhile, are aware of the interest Skriniar is receiving from across the top clubs in Europe. The Italian giants are currently in the process of persuading the Slovakian to sign a new deal at the club, with the current contract expiring in 2022.
Milan Skriniar is a right-footed centre-back, which would be an able replacement for Gerard Pique.
