Minecraft is synonymous with the number of crossovers it does in a year. Quite recently we saw a Megaman X crossover. Before that, we saw many other franchises like Fortnite and Angry Birds cross over with this franchise. Now it is time for Dungeons and Dragons to make its way over to Mojang’s best creation. We saw Hasbro’s official tweet claiming a DLC Crossover between both franchises was coming soon. Let us discuss all the details in this article.
Hasbro to Partner up with Mojang to Crossover D&D with Minecraft
We are expecting the DLC to release sometime in Spring 2023 because it is the same timeline as the big update 1.20. We have an article on everything you need to know about the update here. Minecraft has managed to crossover with a lot of franchises including Avatar, Super Mario Bros, and more. DnD will be a new crossover for them to nail.
If you have properly looked at the trailer and absorbed the info, you will find a lot of references to the DnD franchise in it. Here is a breakdown of what we know and what we deciphered from the trailer.
Just like the roleplaying game, you will be able to pick and choose from some fan-favorite characters present in DnD. Some of them include Wizard, Rogue, Barbarian, and Paladin. Each class has a different mechanic and offers a different playing experience. You will be sucked into the roleplaying game itself and not the tabletop version of it. You will move around masquerading as the characters themselves.
Players have the ability to visit iconic locations from DnD like Icewind Dale and the Candlekeep. You will engage enemies like the Mindflayer. For fans 0f DnD, one can expect a lot of references to not only the lore of the core tabletop game but also a lot of in-game content that every Minecraft and DnD fan will be satisfied with.
We do not know the exact date for the crossover but as Spring approaches we will. What are you excited about and expect from Mojang in this crossover? Let’s discuss! For more Minecraft content, stay tuned at The SportsRush!
