Molde’s message to Solskjaer: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been brilliant for Manchester United so far.
The Norwegian star has become a fan favourite since joining Manchester United in December.
The club appointed Solskjaer as a replacement for Jose Mourinho until the end of the season. However, the former United star has had a bright start to his managerial role at the club.
Solskjaer won eight games on a trot since joining the side before finally dropping points in a 2-2 draw against Burnley earlier this week.
As the speculations surrounding Solskjaer getting a permanent role go stronger with each passing day, Telegraph reports a message which Molde FK has sent their Norwegian boss.
Molde’s message to Solskjaer:
Solskjaer is scheduled to return to Molde in May 2019 after the end of the English season.
The Norwegian began his managerial career at Molde in 2010 and left the club for the first time in 2014 for Premier League side Cardiff City. However, an unsuccessful spell in England saw him returning to Molde in 2015.
Solskjær: “They (directors of Molde) know this (managing #mufc) is something I’ve always dreamt about, and to get their backing was fantastic. What they actually said was: ‘Go over there, enjoy yourself, and please don’t come back!’” #mulive [guardian]

Solskjær: “He (Sir Alex) has been to the training ground a couple of times & I make sure I visit him after every game in his lounge at Old Trafford. It’s great to have a chat with him & his friends after every game. Great for me and I think good for him as well.” #mulive [mirror]

He came back to England with an interim role at Manchester United in December last year, but Telegraph reports that Molde’s owners now have a message for him.
When Solskjaer joined Old Trafford on loan from the Norwegian club, Molde’s owners told him, “Enjoy yourself, and don’t come back.”
The message, however, was meant for him to perform so brilliantly that Manchester United give him the permanent role at the club.
The Telegraph also quotes Solskjaer where he talked about his conversation with Molde’s owners, Kjell Inge Røkke and Bjørn Rune Gjelsten.
“When I rang the owner and said that United had called and that he always knew that this had been my dream, he said: ‘Go over, enjoy yourself – and please don’t come back’,” said Solskjaer.
“Both owners wished me all the best because they knew this is something I dreamed about.”
Solskjær: “I’m not here to talk about myself. It’s about how you work with the players, how you work for the club, so you’ve got to manage for the club. It’s not about me at all.” #mulive [mu]

However, the Norwegian manager doesn’t rule out a possibility of going back to Molde.
“To get the backing from them was fantastic. If I go back to Molde, I will do my best for them – but it depends when I go back.”
Mauricio Pochettino is among the leading candidates to take over the permanent role at Manchester United at the beginning of the new season.
