The two had fallen out during Mourinho’s time at Manchester United
When two of the most petulant personalities in the Premier League had locked heads a couple of seasons back, there was going to be only one winner. And at the end of that power tussle, it was Paul Pogba who had prevailed with Manchester United running out of patience with Mourinho.
Initially on good terms, the two had quickly lost all sense of comradery. Mourinho had publicly even taken snide jibes at Pogba with the Frenchman also being dropped by Mourinho.
Pogba Rips Into Mourinho
Pogba has now for the first time spoken in detail about Mourinho and what he is like a manager. And not mincing words, Paul ripped into Mourinho as he accused the Portuguese of being a decadent man, someone who made his players feel like they didn’t exist.
Pogba’s comments came in the wake of Manchester United trouncing Tottenham 3-1 in the Premier League, Mourinho and Ole had engulfed in a war of words ensuing the clash as the both sparred over Son and his antics on the pitch.
“What I have now with Ole is different because he wouldn’t go against the players,” Pogba said.
“It’s not like you put them on the side and they don’t exist anymore. I think that’s the difference between Mourinho and Ole.
“Once I had a great relationship with Mourinho. Everybody sees that and the next day you don’t know what happened.
It’s not like you put them on the side and they don’t exist anymore. I think that’s the difference between Mourinho and Ole
“That’s the strange thing I had with Mourinho. And I cannot explain to you because, even me, I don’t know.”
Pogba’s comments came after United piled the pressure on Mourinho with a 3-1 win at Tottenham last Sunday.
Pogba said: “I am sure Mourinho said something that made people speak. That’s what he does.
“We got the result that we wanted. Ole knows it and we enjoyed that moment.
“We know Mourinho and what he likes. We don’t need this.
“We just focus on us, we won the game, he lost the game, and he doesn’t want to speak about the game.
“He wants to speak about the dad of someone, that’s what he does. Everybody knows it. It’s very Mourinho.”
