Mourinho on top-4 chances

Mourinho on top-4 chances: Manchester United manager has spoken about the side’s top four chances ahead of the game against Palace.

Jose Mourinho interacted with the media for the pre-match conference ahead of the game against Crystal Palace this weekend.

Manchester United are 8th in the Premier League and are 6 points behind the fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, and a massive 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City, who they lost to this weekend.

United will be desperate to turn the season around, and will aim for a win against Palace and reduce the gap with the top-4 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

In the game against Manchester City, Paul Pogba’s absence left a huge void in the midfield as Guardiola’s side dominated United in a 3-1 win. Mourinho, however, had positive news for United fans today as he informed that Pogba has returned to full fitness, and Martial and Rashford have also recovered after withdrawing from international duty.

Jose Mourinho was asked the question about the side’s top-four chances in the Premier League this season. He earlier stated that United aims to be at a different position by the end of the year.

The question was asked with the context of defeat to Manchester City in their last game before the international break. Mourinho, however, looked upbeat about a finish inside the top-four.

“I know it’s a big gap,” Mourinho said. “But I also know that until the end of December, we have 8 Premier League games to play.

“We are speaking about 24 points for us to fight for, and for the others to fight for too, but I believe we are going to be there.”

The Manchester United manager, however, stated that they’ll need to improve and give solid performances in the upcoming games.

“Of course, we need points. Of course, we need results. Of course, we also need performance, because we also like good performance. So it depends on us.”

Mourinho was also appreciative of the supporters for their support during the bad times, and stated that they ‘can’t do more than they do.’

“Supporters can’t do more than they do, we’ve had a tough time and they’ve been amazing. It’s up to us to give them more and push them to support us even stronger,” Mourinho said.
