CSK captain admits missing one cricketer in IPL 2019

CSK captain admits missing one cricketer in IPL 2019: MS Dhoni unveiled whom Chennai Super Kings are missing in IPL 2019.

During the fifth match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings at Delhi, Chennai Super Kings defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets to register their second victory in IPL 2019.

Chasing 148 runs to win the match, Chennai Super Kings didn’t look in any sort of discomfort despite winning the match with a only couple of balls to spare. CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who remained unbeaten in the end, ended up scoring 32* (35) with the help of two fours and a six.

Speaking during the post-match presentation ceremony, Dhoni highlighted the difference in the pitch in both the innings. “The wicket turned more than expected in the first innings. In the second innings there was enough dew. The bowlers did well to restrict them to 150. The batsmen we have like a bit of pace, and like it to come onto the bat,” Dhoni was quoted as saying.

Despite Super Kings becoming the first team to register two victories in IPL 2019, Dhoni didn’t hesitate from saying that their bowlers haven’t bowled well in the death overs. Other than bowling, the 37-year old cricketer also believed that CSK is just a “safe” fielding side.

“I don’t think we will be a very good fielding side, but we will be a safe fielding side. You don’t want the XI to push too hard and get injured. We might bleed a few runs and make up for that with experience. We haven’t done well at the death, so plenty of areas to work on, but still a good victory,” Dhoni said.

Before concluding, CSK skipper also admitted that the team is missing injured fast bowler Lungi Ngidi. “Losing Ngidi at the start was a big blow, because he was the quickest, but other than that we were well-covered in all the areas,” Dhoni added.
