Ahead of the first T20 against Sri Lanka, team India had their practice session in the afternoon earlier today.

The team took this opportunity to look at the ground and gauge how the pitch will play in the evening. One of the first members to have a look at the pitch was the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.

On entering the ground, Mahi made a beeline for the pitch and took some time to read the Cuttack track. This track has not been used since India played England in an ODI around an year back.

That match is remembered for Yuvi and Dhoni’s mammoth partnership, as the famous duo put the English attack to sword. Yuvi scored 150 while Mahi himself scored a century that day.

Dhoni probably wanted to check if the pitch was similar to the one that he played on an year back, as he took a lot time in understanding the nature of the pitch.

Stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma and head coach Ravi Shastri were also present, as the pair took out time to observe the members practicing in the nets. While star all-rounder Hardik Pandya gave the session a miss, everyone else was putting in the hard yards.

There has been some concern over the Cuttack pitch, due to the lack of competitive cricket matches at the venue. There have been a few football matches that have taken place here, which is why there may be an issue with the cricket pitch.

The groundsmen though do not seem to be bothered though, as they believe that you can expect a score of around 180 today.

Having won his first ODI series as the Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma will be keen to add the T20 series to his kitty as well! Now we just need the action to start!
