MS Dhoni unimpressed with bowlers after CSK’s win against DD
MS Dhoni had a very long post-match presentation last night after CSK’s win against DD. While Dhoni was content with how the overall CSK performance was, he was extremely critical of the CSK bowling unit, as they have leaked a lot of runs during the death overs.
Against DD, CSK had posted 211 on the board, thanks to a late order surge from MS Dhoni and a top order barrage from Shane Watson.
CSK seemed in control in the 2nd innings, but Pant’s explosive innings during the middle phase of the 2nd innings meant that the CSK death bowlers were put under some amount of pressure.
And from the looks of it, they crumbled under pressure big time.
Dhoni wanted his bowlers to practice those wide yorkers in the nets as at the highest level, every bowler needs to dish out all kinds of deliveries and not have any glaring limitations as such.
“Death bowling hasn’t been good, and if we reach the finals, which will be held in small grounds, the margin for error is very small. We have to keep in mind the eliminators and the finals if we make it. Those would be played on the small grounds.” Dhoni said.
Dhoni commented on how Shardul Thakur has struggled this season and that is why Ngidi was drafted in.
“Shardul has not come good. So, we thought a gap of a few games will help him. Lungi coming in and doing good for us was important because we thought we needed pace on this wicket. He has impressed me right from South Africa. If he keeps coming good it will be good for us” Dhoni said.
“Overall, we are a happy side and the mood is good. But it helps if you are winning and learning. Bowlers have to adapt otherwise we will have to look at other options,” Dhoni concluded.” he concluded.
