Mumbai expects BCCI to release Rohit Sharma from the Indian test team
Rohit Sharma is an integral opener of India’s set-up, particularly in the ODI and T20I circuit. But things are not the same for him in the red-ball format.
As per the reports from the Indian Express, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is expecting BCCI to release Rohit Sharma from the Indian test team.
This potential shift will help Mumbai gain an additional advantage before heading into the next contest against Tripura at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

The hitman played his last Test game against New Zealand which came in the year 2016 where he scored a crunch fifty plying his trade in the middle order in the first innings.
In the second innings, the rock-solid performance from the top-order allowed him to relax. Rohit Sharma averages 37 in Tests applying his skills as a middle-order batsman.
In Test cricket, there are a lot of options available which is why there is competition in Tests. With all the bases covered, when the best player gets injured, the best one comes.
However, the reports claim that Rohit Sharma is in contention for Mumbai Team. Mumbai’s situation is not good as well. They face a must-win tie against Tripura.
If Mumbai slackens the grip, then they can’t qualify for the next round. It will be interesting to see how Mumbai respond in the do or die match with thrills.
