Mumbai Indians troll Tim Paine: The IPL franchise was seen taking a dig at the Australian captain after he got out in Melbourne.

During the fourth day of the third Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Melbourne, Australia captain Tim Paine was dismissed by India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Chasing a target of 399 runs, Paine failed to bat throughout the day, ending up scoring 26 (67) with the help of four fours.

Paine’s dismissal was followed by three-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians taking a dig at him. Read their tweet below:

 

“If he [Paine] gets a hundred here, I will put in a word about him to my boss at Mumbai Indians and we’ll buy him. Looks like he’s a fan of Mumbai,” India middle-order batsman and Indians captain Rohit Sharma had said to India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane when Paine was sledging Sharma from behind the wickets.

The above mentioned statement was a response to Paine’s comments regarding Mumbai Indians on the second day of the ongoing match.

Given the amount of banter which has been witnessed in this series from numerous spheres speaks highly about the involvement people have had in it.

While Paine failed to score a hundred in the second innings, it was a reflection of his series so far. Having got to starts, Paine has either erred due to lack of support from the other end or committed an error himself. In three Test so far, Paine has scored 169 runs at an average of 28.16 and a strike rate of 37.55.
