“A 34-Year-Old Stephen Curry is Stronger and Faster than he was at 24”: 4x NBA Champ’s Bewildering Improvements Left Personal Trainer Bedazzled
Stephen Curry has been one of the best players in the league for several years now. However, those who followed the Warriors guard from his initial days are well aware of the horrific injuries he kept sustaining early in his career.
Ever since the sharpshooter went down with an ankle injury during the 2011-2012 season, being in shape has been a priority for Steph.
The result of the same? Winning 2 MVPs, 4 championships, and 1 Finals MVP, and developing into one of the most significant point guards in the history of the NBA.

“I wasn’t thinking that at 34, Stephen Curry will still be getting faster”: Brandon Payne
Year after year, we see Curry improving different aspects of the game, be it his shooting, strength, speed, or even his defense.
Brandon Payne, Chef Curry’s personal trainer, is to be credited for the same.
However, even Payne is left shocked by the kind of improvements Curry manages to make consistently. In an interview with The Athletic, Brandon stated how the GOAT shooter has been more robust and faster at age 34 than he had been during a player’s “prime”. Payne said:
“I wasn’t thinking that at 34, he’ll still be getting faster. Nobody would have ever thought even back then that when he’s 35, he’s gonna be stronger and moving faster and better than he moved when he was 23, 24. It’s kind of crazy.”
Steph Curry’s peak was supposed to be past him. His best days were supposed to be yesteryear.
Instead, 2022 became the year he would no longer be denied. @ThompsonScribe on our NBA Person of the Year: https://t.co/fGmyhe1WbF pic.twitter.com/NwFCFczbf3

What are the type of activities Brandon makes SC30 do in order to ‘limit the effect of any physical decline’? Neurocognitive work, elite conditioning, and flexibility training.
As hectic as it sounds, taking care of their body is one of the most important factors for any successful professional athlete.
Until when can Curry play at his peak?
At age 34, a player is not supposed to be at his peak. However, megastars like LeBron James and Curry are managing to prove that age is merely a number.
Steph, whose prime started during the 2012-13 season, is still playing the game at the highest level. While a player’s prime is supposed to last for a solid 5 years, Curry has been considered one of the best players in the world for almost 8 years now.
Currently averaging 30 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.8 assists this season, Steph is having a better season than his 2016 Unanimous MVP season (30.1/5.4/6.7).
Steph treats his body extremely well. There is no denying the fact that the GSW leader could be in the “best player in the world” argument for several more years to come.
