“Awful, horrible, whatever other words are synonyms”: LeBron James egregiously flops in Lakers’ win last night, leaving Grizzlies announcers shocked at his audacity
The Lakers beat the Grizzlies last night as LeBron James got away with yet another egregious flop to add to his long list of such indiscretions.
A lot of people don’t think LeBron James is a pure baller. Part of the reason for this is his bully-ball style of play. Another part of this is the diametrically opposite character that he maintains on the court – that of a serial flopper.
It’s gotten to a point where you know that he’s flopping his way to extra points for his team. He doesn’t even hide it at times. Other than this particular incident, James also flopped egregiously when Dillion Brooks appeared to disrupt the air in front of him on a possession.
The dichotomy of the man’s morals is lost on a lot of people. James preaches his fans and followers to succeed through hard work and by striving for greatness on every Instagram post. What is the point, one might ask, if he can’t honor the spirit of the game that fills his coffers?
LeBron James gets a phantom foul called on Dillon Brooks
While James finished with 28,9 and 8 on the night, he certainly made the headlines with 3 plays. One of them was great on his part – a tomahawk dunk late in the game.
However, the other plays are worthy of a Shaqtin-a-Fool appearance each. A missed dunk, and a flop that can only be described as Oscar-worthy. Just look at the way James falls to the floor like a sack of potatoes encountering Mike Tyson’s left hook.

Yeah, we know what his fans say – he has to do it because he doesn’t get calls. Perhaps you can embellish some contact without being morally bankrupt, but this stuff? It doesn’t belong on any basketball court.
There is no reason to hunt for a foul where there is none – even if you’re getting pummelled in the post on other plays. Two wrongs only make a right when you’re following the wrong traffic directions, not in real life.
The Lakers emerged victorious by a 115-105 margin last night.
