It was a game of two halves as the Atlanta Hawks came from behind to trump the Philadelphia 76ers in a crucial Game 5. The Sixers had a dominating start as they led the Hawks by 22 points at the break but eventually lost 106-109 in an intense encounter.
It was Joel Embiid who led the charge for Philly as they came out all guns blazing. While Embiid dropped a game defining 37 points along with 13 rebounds and 5 assists.
His partner-in-crime Ben Simmons had a completely off night as he ended with only 8 points. He attempted only a meagre four shots in the entire game and made two of them in a crucial match against the Hawks.
While the Australian native had a poor shooting night from the field, he also went an abysmal 4-14 in free throws. While the NBA fans did not let this opportunity pass as they called him out on Twitter.

“Ben Simmons shoots with the wrong hand,” Kevin O’Connor once again criticises the Sixers guard
Amidst all the slander, Ringer’s NBA writer Kevin O’Connor took to Twitter to write, “Ben Simmons shoots with the wrong hand.” The NBA writer has been following the Sixers point guard for a long time.
Hence he has come up with several anecdotes mentioning how Simmons is actually right handed. Apparently, it was his father who told him to shoot with his left hand.
This was during his time at the NCAA Tournament where he represented LSU. He fired his jump shots with his left hand but uses his right to finish at the rim.
The 2018 Rookie of the Year has a far better shot to basket ratio when he shoots right handed than his left. However, he kept on trying out jumpers with his left despite missing the spot several times.
Kevin O’Connor also feels that it will be hard for a kid to change his dominant shooting hand midway in his career. But Simmons is ambidextrous and he can easily shift to his right hand in an offseason.
During his time at SB Nation when Simmons plied his trade for LSU, Kevin O’Connor noticed every inch of his game. Therefore he came up with several flaws which are not natural for a lefty – starting from issues on his jumper to his stance during free throws.
There were several pieces of evidence to prove that the Australian native should be shooting with his right hand. His horrendous offensive performance in this game proves this narrative yet again.
