Michael Jordan bet that Bismack Biyombo couldn’t make 7 free throws in a row and put $1000 on the line when betting against the Hornets star.
Combining Michael Jordan’s competitive spirit with his fervor for gambling has always resulted in a recipe for a great story. Whether his betting antics took him to the golf course, in the locker room while playing a game of coin toss with the head of security, or just on the basketball court, Michael Jordan loved involving a bit of spice into any game he played.

Free throws were something that Michael Jordan never had a problem. Shooting the same shot from the same distance from the basket for decades on decades and muscle memory certainly takes over. Just like how Kobe Bryant once bet hundreds of thousands of dollars at the charity stripe during an NBA game, Jordan had his own set of antics when shooting free throws.
MJ was a career 83.5% free throw shooter and let this be known when he closed his eyes when on the charity stripe and drained one in honor of Dikembe Mutombo.
Bismack Biyombo had to make 7 free throws in a row to win $1000 from Michael Jordan.
Big-men have always struggled from the line. This is quite ironic as they get fouled the most out of any player on the floor due to them being deep in the paint where the floor is clogged with players. Bismack Biyombo was one such player as he boasted a 56% free throw percentage on his career.

Recently, Biyombo opened up about a story involving Michael Jordan and a bet he made with him. Being a proficient or at least, a capable free throw shooter is essential for any big man. So, to help Bismack with his free throws, MJ bet $1000 on the Hornets center missing at least one of 7 free throws in a row.
Given how poor of a shooter Biyombo was, Jordan cleaned house and won the bet with ease. However, instead of gloating, the Hornets majority stake owner helped Bismack with his shot from the FT line.
