Jeff Teague used to be a player for the Atlanta Hawks 5 years ago. Unfortunately, Charles Barkley thought he’s still on their roster.

Trae Young has been ruled out for Game 4 of the Conference Finals between Bucks vs Hawks. This means that the Hawks’ Herculean task of winning 3 games out of 4 has become monumentally tougher now.
They’ve got Lou Williams on their roster to initiate their offense and get some timely buckets for now. But everyone knows that at the age of 34, Sweet Lou may not be elite for all 30+ of his minutes tonight.
In such circumstances, it is natural to wonder whether Lou would be better off in his usual Sixth Man role. And that is exactly the topic of conversation that Chuck wanted to bring up in tonight’s pre-game analysis.
Charles Barkley thought Jeff Teague is still a Hawks player
The trouble with Chuck is, this is a man who’s no longer bothered with specifics of his job. And therefore, he can often have some dumb takes based on the information in his head.
As Kenny wondered aloud about Nate McMillan’s current lineup headache with Lou Williams, Chuck began talking about how Jeff Teague should be given a starting berth tonight:
“Honestly, I wouldn’t do that. I would start Jeff Teague, because if you start Lou Williams, I don’t see… Yeah, Jeff Teague!”
“I would start Jeff Teague.” 😅

Ernie had to step in and make Chuck realize that Teague hasn’t even played for Atlanta in 5 years. And what’s more, Teague is actually on the bench for the opposition tonight!
As expected, NBA Twitter has been abuzz with Charles Barkley talk ever since his latest gaffe. And really, can you blame them for doing that? We hope Chuck continues to pay little heed to players and which teams they’re on. Just so we can have content like this every other day.
