"Chris Paul and Devin Booker both dogs": Former Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford reveals why he saw the All-Star duo flourishing with the Phoenix Suns

Former NBA star Jamal Crawford reveals how he saw the Chris Paul and Devin Booker duo flourishing at the Phoenix Suns organization from day 1.

Over the last couple of years, the Phoenix Suns have been a lottery team at the most. Before this campaign, despite having the prolific scorer Devin Booker on their roster since 2015, the team hadn’t advanced to the postseason. However, with the addition of veteran playmaker Chris Paul on their squad, the Suns went from having the worst record in the league to being NBA Finalists in only a matter of 3 seasons.

Behind the All-Star pairing of Devin Booker and Chris Paul, they not only lead the team to its first playoffs appearance in over a decade but also made it to the NBA Finals after 28 years. And now, Monty William’s boys are only four wins away from winning the city’s first-ever NBA championship.

A lot of teams and analysts have been stunned with the way Phoenix has played this year – finishing with the second-best record in the league, eliminating LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, making the NBA Finals. However, the Suns’ successful season wasn’t surprising at all for former NBA star Jamal Crawford.

“Chris Paul is best when controlling the show, and Devin Booker is a natural assassin”: Jamal Crawford

Jamal Crawford is a 20-year NBA veteran. He is a 3-time Sixth Man of the Year and has played with and against some of the all-time greats. Out of the several legendary players Crawford has played with, both CP3 and Booker feature on the list. Having played with both these stars, Jamal would obviously know just how talented they are.

Recently, the 41-year-old revealed how he always believed that the Paul-Booker connection would be flourishing for the Suns organization. The 6-foot-5 shifty ball-handler revealed:

“Before you even get to their skill sets, the love of the game from both of them would keep them connected. Then on the court, they are both DOGS!!!”

“What sticks out to me is they know when the other has that ‘feel’ going, and they know how to step to the side, without losing themselves in the process.”

“I think CP is best when controlling the show, but he also is great when he has go-getters with him because that allows him to pick his spots even more flawlessly. And with Book, he is a natural assassin, but he is an underrated playmaker. They are both ‘closers’ to end the game. Teams are lucky to have one closer. They have two.”
