Lakers legend Magic Johnson sends out a proposition to Suns star Chris Paul on Twitter after Phoenix bows out of the NBA Finals

Even at 36-years-old, Chris Paul is still one of the elite point guards in the NBA right now.
Yes, sometimes his play in the NBA finals has raised questions about his reliability. But, the fact of the matter is, he has stepped up almost every time he was called upon and made his teammates better even on the highest possible stage.
Despite all his, and his teammates’ efforts though, the Suns lost in 6 games to the Bucks in the Finals. Now, with the offseason on the horizon, the player has a decision to make. He can either opt-out of his contract with the Phoenix Suns to become a free agent. Or, he can exercise his player option, and get 45 million for staying with the Suns next season.
At first, staying in Phoenix sounds like a very attractive option if you are the Point God. After all, 45 million is no joke. However, it seems Lakers legend Magic Johnson has a proposition for the future Hall of Famer. And it’s one that he’s going to want to hear.
Magic Johnson invites Chris Paul to the Lakers to create a superteam with LeBron James and Anthony Davis
You have the Nets in the East. So Magic Johnson asks why not the Lakers in the West?
As many know, LeBron James and Chris Paul have been close friends for the longest time. They have even hinted at wanting to play together at some point in their careers. Could this actually happen though? Could their team-up really mean another championship for the Lakers?
Magic certainly thinks so.
A big three with LeBron, Chris, and AD will equal a NBA championship!

As much as we’d like to see this, we need to shatter every Lakers fans’ dreams. This will not happen.
As things stand, the franchise has little to no cap-space left. For the front office to make this happen, a large number of players would have to be let go, which frankly ruins any possibility of a competent bench.
More than that though, we just can’t see the player actually turning down 45 million dollars so late in his career, even if it means a lower chance at winning a championship.
And so, while this team-up would be a fun one to watch, sometimes dreams just can’t be turned into reality. Even if the great Magic Johnson wishes them to be.
