Damian Lillard criticised by Skip Bayless

The Damian Lillard and Skip Bayless saga stretches further with Bayless throwing shade at Lillard ahead of the play-in game vs Grizzlies.

Skip Bayless loves being to dish out ‘hard truths’ and spring up controversies.

This time, however, he took it a step further when he Tweeted about how shorthanded the Brooklyn Nets are. While initially the tweet may seem like one for the Nets and their roster, it was actually made to further stir up the controversy with Lillard.

Here is the Tweet.

While the harsh critic is on-point about how weak the Brooklyn Nets are without Durant and Irving, the fact that he involved Lillard and compared him to them is drawing murmurs. It seems that there is some score unsettled between them as this is not the first time that Bayless has hit out at Lillard.

After his tweet about Nets, Bayless also came up with a tweet about how Lillard did nothing significant in the last 3 minutes 17 seconds of the game vs Nets.

He also highlighted the fact that Lillard did not deserve the three free throws he got late in the 4th quarter, thereby hinting that Lillard isn’t as clutch as he makes himself out to be.

It will be interesting to see if Lillard responds to Bayless this time or lets his game do the talking tonight vs Grizzlies.

Lillard’s performance in the bubble

The Portland Trailblazers will take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the first game of the play-in stage tonight. Damian Lillard is playing amazing basketball right now. He has led his team to clinch the 8th seed in the last game, which gives them an advantage over the Grizzlies tonight.

With this in context, many considered it unfair that Skip Bayless was being so critical of Lillard’s performance. Fans have already pointed out that Bayless puts out his tweets just to attract attention and more eyeballs to his show.
