“Definition of MVP”: NBA Twitter Reacts as Warriors with Stephen Curry are First With and Last Without Him

The Golden State Warriors are in the midst of a turbulent season. After winning the 2022 title, no one expected Steve Kerr’s boys to fair as badly as they’ve been doing so. Despite Stephen Curry playing at an MVP level, the San Francisco-based organization failed to capitalize on their star’s red-hot form.

Instead, GSW started their campaign with a horrible 4-7 record and are currently 2 games within stumbling down to the 10th seed.

With Chef Curry’s recent shoulder injury sidelining him for a few weeks, despite going 6-6, the Warriors did get exposed for their lack of offensive firepower.

A stat that was brought up in the recent GSW-Spurs clash clearly showcases the hard carrying that the 2-time MVP has been doing on the offensive end.

NBA Twitter reacts to the Warriors’ offensive rating with & without Curry

With the 8-time All-Star present on the floor, Golden State has the best offensive rating (118.2) in the entire league. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case when the sharpshooter is off the court. In the 6-foot-3 guard’s absence, the Warriors have a league-worst 105.7 offensive rating.

As soon as this stat went up on social media, NBA Twitter blew up with reactions.

Can Stephen Curry return back to his pre-injury form?

Prior to the shoulder injury, Steph was doing wonders on the court. The GOAT 3-point shooter was averaging 30/6.6/6.8 while shooting 50% from the field and 43.4% from 3-point land.

2 games since his return to the lineup, Steph’s shoulder is clearly still an obstacle.

Yes, the 4-time champ did record a solid 24-point performance against the Suns. However, shooting at a 36.4/33.3/75 split is quite horrific for his standards. Even in the win against SAS, Curry put up an awful 28.6% from beyond the arc.

Usually, the 2-time scoring champ manages to catch fire in the second half of the season. Hopefully, a few more games and Curry should be performing like he did pre-injury.
