Despite LeBron James' Support During Grizzlies' Feud, Shannon Sharpe Launches a Scathing Attack Against Lakers Superstar: "One of His Worst Games"

Long-term LA Lakers fan Shanon Sharpe is very close with LeBron James. The Lakers lost their second straight game against the Denver Nuggets and are now losing the Conference finals 2-0. LeBron James had his second ordinary game against the Nuggets after missing plenty of shots on the night.

Speaking on The Undisputed, Sharpe was asked the biggest reason why he thought the LA Lakers lost game 2. Despite LeBron’s support during the feud that he had with Ja Morant’s father, Sharpe claimed that the 38-year-old was the major reason why the Lakers lost.

Shannon Sharpe left disappointed with LeBron James’ game 2 performance against the Denver Nuggets

LeBron James has been ordinary by his lofty standards in the two games thus far. In game 1, he finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Game 2 saw LeBron finish with a stat line of 22 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds. While the stats as always are above average, LeBron has struggled with his shooting and has given up the ball multiple times, a lot of them quite easily.

Shannon Sharpe believes that LeBron’s struggles were the biggest reason why the LA Lakers ended up losing. Sharpe went as far as claiming that around 85-90% of the blame lay on LeBron James:

“LeBron didn’t play well. It’s one of the worst overall games that I’ve seen him play in a long time and that is saying something. 85 to 90 percent of the blame is on his shoulders. He was pretty close to points as turnovers in the first half. He didn’t play well. His play was one of the main reasons they lost the ball game.”

LeBron James gets criticized by long-term supporter Shannon Sharpe

Sharpe has been a huge LeBron James fan right from the early part of his career. The game saw Jamal Murray respond with a 4th quarter blitzkrieg that proved too much to recover from.

LeBron James has not converted even 1 of the 10 3-point attempts he has taken in the Conference finals thus far. While Sharpe claimed that Anthony Davis needed more from LeBron on the night, he also claimed that Darvin Ham needs to do better:

“AD needed a type of effort from LeBron and he didn’t get it. You have to stop this lineup of LeBron and Rui (Hachimura) as your bigs and three guards. You are getting crushed.”

It will be interesting to see whether Sharpe’s bond with Lebron James is affected after the latest comments. The Lakers will be focused for the time being to make a return in the series.
