Dillon Brooks is a man who has been making the headlines quite frequently off late. Unfortunately, those headlines aren’t anything to be proud of. After all, most of it has to do with his disrespect, dirty plays, and new “villainous” persona.

In particular, the Memphis Grizzlies swingman had the spotlight pointed at him after his most recent misdemeanor. In Game 3 of the Grizzlies versus Lakers matchup, Brooks took a shot at LeBron James below the belt. This move got him ejected for a flagrant foul. And of course, it has started a nationwide debate about him.
Despite his obvious errors, Brooks is of the opinion that he is a top-notch player. Well, some Hall of Famers disagree on that point. Like Reggie Miller, who claimed that Brooks will never be in the Hall of Fame unlike his former idol turned nemesis with a similarly questionable play style, Draymond Green.
Reggie Miller claims Dillon Brooks will never be a Hall of Famer like Draymond Green
Reggie Miller is one of the most respected figures in the NBA. After all, he has had a Hall of Fame-worthy career and has even worked as an NBA analyst. So, when he speaks about basketball, it’s only common sense to listen.
Well, the Pacer legend has given his two cents on Dillon Brooks. The Memphis Grizzlies guard has been called out for his dirty plays and his poor attitude. But, surprisingly this is not what Reggie has an issue with. Appearing on the Dan Patrick show, Miller made it clear that he believes Brooks will never be a Hall of Famer.
Why? Well, according to him the only way dirty players get into the hall is if they’ve got “Game”, much like Draymond Green. And, unfortunately for Dillon, he is no Draymond.
“Draymond Green is gonna be a Hall of Famer. He’s got game to back it up. He’s going into the hall. Dillon Brooks is not going into the hall!”
Some harsh words from Reggie Miller, but it is the truth nonetheless. Especially considering that Dillon is doing nothing compared to what Draymond Green did at his age.
Draymond Green achieved way more than Brooks did by the age of 27
Back in the day, when Dillon Brooks was a member of the Oregon Ducks, he infamously said he wanted to be like Draymond Green. Specifically, he wanted to bring to a team, the same qualities that Draymond did. And by now, we know that includes high IQ basketball, defense, rebounding, and great playmaking.
Unfortunately, six years into his NBA career and we still haven’t seen Dillon do that. By the age of 27, Green was already a two-time champion, a three-time All-Star, and was the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year.
As things stand, Brooks is far from being anywhere on the same level as Draymond Green. And, if his poor form continues to persist, he likely never will be.
