"Donovan Mitchell is a better version of Dwyane Wade": Stephen A Smith showers praise on Jazz star after his performances vs Grizzlies in Game 4

Stephen A. Smith announces that Utah Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell is a better version of this Miami Heat legend.

Donovan Mitchell has taken some massive leaps in the last few years. With time, he has transformed himself from a promising young player to the best player on a contending team. And honestly, the transition has been incredible.

Mitchell’s bounce, and ability to catch bodies whenever he wants, may have made him a more slashing heavy guard. However, the 24-year-old has always made it a point to improve his outside shot. And now, he is arguably one of the most underrated pull-up shooters in the game today.

After watching his progress, many in the NBA community believe that the player is on the road to being an all-time great. And Stephen A. Smith not only agrees but also decided to take it one step further very recently.

Stephen A. Smith calls Donovan Mitchell a better version of Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade will forever be known as one of the best-ever players in the history of the Miami Heat and the NBA. He was an explosive guard, with the ability to make a difference on both ends of the floor, on the highest level. Perhaps, the only thing he was really ever lacking was an elite outside shot.

Well, according to Stephen A. Smith, Donovan Mitchell has all the Heat legend’s qualities. Not only that, but the tenured analyst also believes that the player doesn’t have the weaknesses Wade did.

Here is a snippet of the most recent episode of ‘Stephen A’s World’. Take a listen.

Stephen A. Smith has undoubtedly made his fair share of hot takes throughout his career and has been ridiculed for them on multiple occasions. However, with this take of his, we can’t help but agree to a certain extent.

We still wouldn’t say Mitchell is quite there yet. But, at 24-years-old, the Jazz star is already close. And with his franchise making some really positive strides, we wouldn’t be surprised if the star was able to collect a few more championships than the Heat legend.
