"Don't let Luka Doncic's whiteness fool you": Jeff Van Gundy makes controversial racial remark on Mavs star, leaves fans fuming

Former coach and sportscaster Jeff Van Gundy doesn’t hold back and makes a comment about Luka Doncic that leaves NBA Fans in splits.

Jeff Van Gundy has been in and around the NBA for around five decades now. He has taken up many roles, either as a coach or as a broadcaster. He is well respected all around the league. Yesterday, Jeff Van Gundy was part of the ABC/ESPN crew for the Clippers-Mavericks game.

During the game, Luka Doncic blew by the Clippers’ defense and made his way for the free throws. JVG made a very controversial remark while Luka was shooting from the charity stripe.

The remark by JVG is extremely racially charged, and should not have been made in the first place.

NBA Fans react to Jeff Van Gundy making racial remarks

The NBA community is one of the most united communities when it comes to social justice and equality. When JVG made his remarks on Luka Doncic, it outraged everyone, from fellow NBA casters to the fans.

There are chances van Gundy may not stay in the broadcasting business for much longer. It isn’t due to the remarks, but because he is in the running for a Head Coach job again. JVG is one of the top candidates for the Trailblazers HC job.

Whether he gets it or not, Jeff needs to do better, and not make such racially charged remarks at any given time.
