“Draymond Green has to be careful”: Charles Barkley dishes out advice to Warriors DPOY following rant on double standards between players and teams

Charles Barkley goes off on Draymond Green on the Bill Simmons podcast, asking the Warriors star to be careful in regards to his rant.

Draymond Green has always been one to let everybody know what’s on his mind. So when asked about how he felt seeing Andre Drummond sit at the corner of the bench during the Warriors-Cavaliers game, Green went off on the double standards that perpetuate within the NBA.

The double standards he was referring to was how it was alright for teams to trade whoever they want, whenever they want, but it’s looked down upon when players request a trade away from their current situation.

“Because as a player, you’re the worst player in the world when you want a different situation, but when a team says they’re trading you, that man has to stay in shape and stay professional. If not, his career is on the line.”

Charles Barkley responded to these statements by Green on the Bill Simmons podcast.

Charles Barkley lets Draymond Green know that he ‘needs to be more careful’

When asked about his opinions on Draymond Green’s most recent remarks on the current state of the NBA and the relationship between players and their teams, Chuck didn’t hold back.

“Draymond needs to be more careful. All that stuff is cute when you’re winning but when you’re in last place, it’s annoying. The Cavaliers are trying to protect their asset and they’re going to trade Drummond. They’re doing what’s best for them.”

“I think Draymond’s got to start learning that you can say what you want to when you’re that chaps. But when you’re in last place, you become annoying.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers do have the right to trade Andre Drummond and deal him to whatever situation they see fit because after all, they are the ones that are paying him at this very moment. Teams will always end up having more power than players in this league because it is the team that ends up dishing out $100 million contracts to their players.

Draymond Green and Charles Barkley have butted heads on several occasions before, most notably when Chuck called Draymond the “least famous boy in a boyband”. The 3x champ then came out saying that Chuck was jealous of the Warriors’ success and that he’s not a friend of his.
