Draymond Green Sounds Off on 'Fan Boys' After Getting Roasted For Rooting For LeBron James' Lakers: "I'm Humbly ELITE at Both"

It is no secret that Draymond Green has gone from one of LeBron James’ biggest opponents all the way to one of his biggest fans. After the Warriors got knocked out of the playoffs, he has been vying for the Lakers to win it all this season… to the point that it has gotten on fans’ nerves. Because of this, countless fans have been roasting Green. And apparently, the Warriors star has had it with all the criticism, as he tweeted out his response to all the detractors.

As you may know already, there have been countless rumours of Draymond Green potentially joining the Lakers next season. So, his apparent love of LeBron James over these last few years was always going to get him some flack. When Jamal Murray drew a Flagrant 1 Foul in Game 2 against the Lakers, Green commented on it on Twitter. He wrote, “Soft”

This had fans roasting Green for his comments.

So, as is apparent, fans are done with this kumbaya attitude Draymond now has toward LeBron James. But what was the Warriors star’s response to it?

Draymond Green issues a rather bold statement to all his detractors

Considering how loud of a person Draymond Green usually is regarding all his opinions, he has been rather quiet on this subject… until now, at least. One way or the other, the man seems to have gotten tired of all the criticism regarding being associated with LeBron James. After taking so many hits, he finally put this tweet out.

“A lot of you dudes be real disrespectful in these comments. FAN BOYS. However, I think it really bother y’all that I’m the PLAYER that I am and the VOICE that I am. I get it… it’s tough to wrap your mind around it. But just accept it. I’m humbly ELITE at both *shrug emoji*”

Of course, Green didn’t make it too direct and talked about how he’s both an elite player and a voice in the community(referring to his podcast). He was done with the disrespect and tried to get the ‘fan boys’ to shut up.

On some level, as it always does, the NBA community did indeed go too far. However, how wrong are they, really? After all, the murky nature of Draymond Green’s future in the NBA isn’t exactly encouraging.

What does Draymond Green’s future hold?

As per his current contract, Draymond Green has a player option for another year with the Warriors, where he would be paid $27.6 million, as per Sportrac. That said, while this would be beyond convenient for the Warriors, the star has not confirmed that he will be taking that option.

As of now, there are three paths that lie in front of Green. He can either take his player option and the $27.6 Million player option. Green can opt-out and then choose to sign a whole new deal with the Warriors, or he can leave the Dubs altogether and test free agency.

While DG has said that he wants to be a Warrior for life, he also mentioned that his agent Rich Paul will advice him on the best course of action going forward.
