Dwight Howard’s Been Putting Work in!”: Shaquille O’Neal Hypes Up 3x DPOY Ahead of Potential Signing With Stephen Curry’s Warriors

The NBA rumor mill has yet again spit out some exciting news. Many sources have confirmed that Dwight Howard is invited for a workout with The Golden State Warriors. The workout comes after the possible signing for the All-Star center. The news has sent many fans and analysts into a frenzy, as many would love to see the pairing of Chris Paul, Steph Curry, and Dwight Howard on the floor. Interestingly enough, even someone like Shaquille O’Neal, a very vocal critic of Dwight Howard, seemed interested, even sharing the news on his Instagram.

Dwight Howard has the accolades to stand next to the likes of Stephen Curry and Chris Paul. The big man has won The Defensive Player Of The Year Award three times and even won a Championship in 2020. The 7-footer since then has decided to take his talents to Taiwan during the 2022-23 season, playing for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan. The Orlando legend has now decided to return home to possibly play his 19th season in the league.

Dwight Howard gears up for possible workout with the Golden State Warriors

Dwight Howard has recently been in the NBA news cycles. The rumors about a possible move to the Warriors intensified after a recent video surfaced. The footage showed the big man working on his strength and conditioning with a weighted ball. Dwight Howard looked explosive and lean, looking closer to the Orlando Dwight than we have ever seen in recent times.

Shaquille O’Neal took note of the big man’s work ethic and decided to give the 7-footer his ‘nod.’ The Lakers legend shared a clip of Dwight working with the weighted ball on his Instagram story.

Shaq and Dwight haven’t had the most cordial relationship. Dr.O’Neal has been ‘hard’ on the big men, as he believes that pushing players often gets the best out of them. The tactic can often backfire, with many centers not appreciating Shaq’s rough criticism.

Shams Charania, Senior lead NBA Insider for The Athletic and Stadium broke the news to the world that Dwight will be looking to meet with the coaching staff and front office of the Warriors any time this week. Though there is no guarantee as to what the deal might look like, both parties have shown significant interest in each other over the off-season.

The saga between Dwight Howard and Shaquille O’Neal continues

Shaquille O’Neal is known to be quite the bully. The Lakers legend has always given other Centers a hard time, even after hanging up his sneakers. Many centers like Rudy Gobert, Joel Embiid, and JaVale McGee have come under fire from the superman. But no other player faced quite the same level of criticism from Shaq as Dwight Howard.

During the early parts of his career, Dwight was regularly bashed by Shaq, as both were given the same moniker of ‘Superman.’ But recently, O’Neal has leaned off, giving the veteran big man his flowers.

Even during the NBA 75 team selection, Shaq was vocal about Dwight Howard being left off the list. Shaq even went as far as to agree with Howard’s claims that he was successful in stopping 2-time MVP Nikola Jokic during the 2020 bubble.

The deal between Howard and the Warriors might be made final as we speak, but we have to all wait and watch if the blockbuster move goes through as we expect.
