Former Knicks Guard Carmelo Anthony’s Ex-Wife La La Anthony, Who Accused him of Cheating, Allegedly Did it First With Brooklyn Rapper
The NBA is a wild business and especially if you play for one of the bigger teams like the Knicks, your entire life is under public scrutiny. Just ask Carmelo Anthony, on whose shoulders were the highest of expectations and was given almost zero breathing room.
Things got so bad that his ex-wife La La Anthony accused him of cheating. And eventually strained the relationship so much that just in 2021, they finally separated.
Carmelo’s life in New York was no laughing matter. He was brought on for one reason to bring the franchise a championship. The Mecca of Basketball, the Concrete Jungle, needed a hero.
But the hero would have to deal with baggage, both personal and on the court.
Carmelo Anthony was carrying the Knicks while LaLa was out being unfaithful
Through his time with the Knicks, Carmelo had to deal with a lot. From unwavering expectations of succeeding to helping the Knicks get to a title despite the franchise not giving him the right tools.
Apart from that, as the main player for New York, Carmelo was feeling the pressure both on the court and at home. Things got so bad that La La Anthony, his then-wife accused Anthony of cheating.
But not before there were rumors and an entire comment section alleging the actress to be involved in an affair of her own.
Yes, as per a story that circulated, La La was involved with a Brooklyn-based rapper named Maino. And while the only veracity for the claims came from a few Instagram comments, it had some weight.

The truth is a mixed bag
The truth as always is not black and white. La La had already been the center of controversy when Carmelo and Kevin Garnett got involved in a scuffle on the court.
And this story would not have helped with matters at home.
Melo’s stint with the Knicks ended in 2017 and since then he has been bouncing around the league. While he is a certified Knicks legend, his personal life was ruined.
The couple had an on-and-off relationship since 2017 and in 2021, they filed for divorce. Whoever plays for the Knicks has a lot of expectations on their shoulder. The weight might even crush them. Just ask Carmelo.
