“Good Job Big Fella!”: DeMarcus Cousins Recalled the Time He Instantly Regretted Trash Talking Tim Duncan

DeMarcus Cousins has been an in-and-out man for about 4 seasons in the NBA. Anthony Davis was almost second fiddle to him at one point because Boogie Cousins was the main man. He had the league sitting up and watching him in awe because a center should not have been doing what he was.

Before the Joel Embiids and the Nikola Jokics, DeMarcus Cousins was all the rage. During his two seasons with the Pelicans, he averaged about 25 points per game while making two three-pointers per game. He was also passing the ball around a lot because he had about five assists a game from the center position.

That was unheard of since the league had not yet transitioned to the position less basketball we see today. It was still in its nascent stages, and Cousins had already begun showing us signs of what it could look like. He had every right to be cocky because he had the talent to back up his talk.

Just not against Tim Duncan, though, because the San Antonio Spurs man is arguably the best power forward ever. Highly underrated yet never unforgettable, Timmy D was a player that you just had to watch. DeMarcus, in his younger days with the Sacramento Kings, made the mistake of trying to awaken the sleeping beast.

Boogie tried to Bully Tim Duncan quite a bit – The Big Fundamental had the last laugh

Cousins was a brash young star trying to make his mark on a poor Sacramento team. While he did succeed in getting his big money move, it did not last long. Injuries ravaged him, but not before he tried to bully Tim Duncan while at the Kings.

He regrets having a decent night against Timmy, and he got a little carried away. He started trash-talking to the Spurs man, and all he did was look at him. No words, nothing. All he did was look, and he proceeded to humiliate him in the most fundamental way possible—by scoring 16 straight points in the fourth quarter.

Icing on the cake? Just a pat on the back and a “good job.” Duncan’s trash-talking style is hilarious! Just the opposite of Kevin Garnett!

They faced off 15 times in their career, with the Spurs man coming on top 13-2.

Boogie fell off after his injury—that’s an understatement. To his credit, not many people come back from career-ending injuries at all. Just look at Klay Thompson; he’s been struggling too. Or Shaun Livingston—that man was an anomaly.

After moving to the Golden State Warriors, he lost his way; after his lone season with the Warriors, he moved around. He never stuck with one team because he rarely got to play. Unfortunate because every team he was a part of won the championship, just not with him on it.

Maybe staying with the Nuggets will be successful since they seem to be on track with Nikola Jokic leading them to wins.
