Kobe Bryant had a decorated career that encompassed a 20-year tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers.

During the duration of his stay, Bryant made substantial contributions to the success of the franchise. Winning several individual accolades thereby placing himself amongst the organization’s greats.
While some believed Bryant to be an inefficient yet prolific scorer, his stalwart patronage reckons he’s the greatest player to have played in the NBA.
While that topic is a whole other conversation in itself, it’s best to remember that the American was the primary option on a Los Angeles Lakers roster that won back-to-back championships in 2009 and 2010. Decisive.
He suffered an Achilles injury that rendered him unable to compete like his previous self during the twilight years of his career. Bryant nonetheless showcased that the high IQ and extensive arsenal he had, were forever imprinted in his mind.
To reiterate this he capped off his final game in the NBA with a stupendous 60-point display, catapulting the franchise to a victory against the Utah Jazz.
The entire world was in awe of what they had just witnessed. Well, all but one man. Step forward, Jason Whitlock.
Jason Whitlock makes a blasphemous claim regarding Kobe Bryant.
For the uninitiated, Jason Whitlock is an American journalist and media personality who has made a living off his coverage of the American sports
Whitlock appeared on Colin Cowherd’s show, “The Herd” six years ago and made some bold comments with reference to Bryant. While the pair discussed numerous topics, one that stood out to NBA supporters was a statement the 55-year-old made concerning ‘Bean’s final game.
Speaking to Cowherd, Whitlock said:
“His narcissism and selfishness destroyed a franchise. The Lakers are a laughing stock and just had the most embarrassing season we’ve pretty much ever seen an NBA team have..During his era there were far better players all the time. Kobe ran off Shaquille O’Neal, they could have established one of the greatest dynasties in sports history but his narcissim and selfishness ran Shaq out..That game last night was hot garbage.”
An appalling judgment from someone who is supposedly covering professional sports meticulously.
Kobe’s 60 point “hot garbage” performance!
There may never be a performance of the kind that the 18-time NBA All-Star displayed in his last game, in the history of the sport. Against an extremely competitive Utah Jazz, Bryant scored 60 points to bow out of the sport for good.
Black Mamba’s 60-piece came along with four rebounds and four assists each. The staggering aspect of that performance was the number of shots he took. Bryant attempted 50 field goals and converted 22.
While the 44% might indicate an inefficiency, it was sufficient to walk away with the win. A win that defined exactly what his career revolved around. Not numbers, not stats: Winning!
