“I Don’t Even Know What Happened”: Despite Rachel Nichols Rumors, Jimmy Butler Delivers Curious Statement
Jimmy Butler is riding higher and higher on a high that just refuses to quit at the moment. The man recently led the Miami Heat to kick out the odds-on favorites to win the NBA championship heading into the NBA playoffs. And of course, with playoff Jimmy right back in the fold again, it got people talking about him again. However, with that, there always comes just a little history too. You see, there have been countless theories as to what the source of certain thumping noises coming from Butler’s room were about. Add to that his NBA Finals run during those playoffs, and this becomes quite the interesting topic to look back on now. And yet, when the Heat star was asked about it, his answer was beyond a peculiar one.
Jimmy Butler does not want to talk about the Orlando Bubble
The narrative around Jimmy Butler elevating in the playoffs did not start from the Orlando Bubble. However, it sure received a massive boost, considering that he was the best player on a finals team, one that took the heavy favorites in LeBron James’ Lakers to 6 games before finally admitting defeat. However, when he was asked about it, as per Brady Hawk’s tweet below, his response was a bit unexpected.
Jimmy Butler when the bubble got brought up at practice today:
“I ain’t talking about the bubble. I don’t even know what happened in the bubble.”

“I ain’t talking about the bubble. I don’t even know what happened in the bubble.”
Usually, when players are asked about NBA Finals runs, they say that it was a learning experience, at the very least. But, it appears that it was such a sour experience for Jimmy Butler, that he just can’t talk about it. Of course, knowing NBA Twitter though, this was always going to go in a certain other direction. And sure enough, fans couldn’t stop making little jokes referencing the rumors about him and Rachel Nichols.
Fan reactions
For those unaware, during the Orlando Bubble, there were reports that there were thumping noises coming from Jimmy Butler’s room during the night. And while the man was said to be dribbling a basketball at night, some decided to connect it to his friendly relationship with Rachel Nichols. And soon, rumors about their not-just-friends-anymore relationship started spreading. Something that ‘sticky bun’ decided to throw in a little reference to here.

Oh we definitely know what happened with Jimmy in the bubble…
— Nik Turner (@NikTurner13) April 29, 2023
Clearly, Nik Turner had similar ideas, as their tweet is also a clear allusion to the Rachel Nichols controversy. And as you’d expect, it doesn’t stop there.
Isn’t that where he got in trouble for smashing Rachel Nichols?? 🤔 🤨

Unlike the others, B Willy goes right for it. And we must admit that approach is hilarious. To be fair to him, that is what everybody is thinking, so it’s hard to blame them on this one.
