“I don’t want to ask him anything”: John Wall says he doesn’t want to talk to James Harden about leaving Rockets
John Wall remains focused on what’s best for the Rockets and says he hasn’t talk to James Harden about the latter wanting to be traded.
The Houston Rockets have had a mess of an offseason in 2020. On top of losing long time GM Daryl Morey and Head Coach Mike D’Antoni, they are on the verge of losing their franchise cornerstone in James Harden.
Harden hadn’t reported to training camp for days as he was seen carelessly partying his nights away at Houston strip clubs. This was obviously subliminal messaging towards the Rockets front office that he does not want to stay in Houston.
He has officially made his way back to the Rockets for the time being, as he played his first preseason game today. He also showed up to practice the day prior.
John Wall isn’t concerned about whether James Harden leaves or stays.
John Wall has made his return to official NBA basketball after being out for more than 2 years. Surprisingly enough, Wall is showing flashes of his old self. He’s as quick as ever, and is blowing past defenders with ease.
After their win against the Spurs, Wall was asked about Harden. Wall said, “I don’t try to ask him about that because that’s his personal business. All I worry about is what we can do to make this Rockets team the best that we can be.”
John Wall on James Harden’s desire to leave Houston: “I don’t try to ask him about that because that’s his personal business. All I worry about is what we can do to make this Rockets team the best that we can be while everybody is here and move forward with that.”

Wall clearly seems like he isn’t all too worried about James Harden’s whereabouts in say, 2 months from now. After all, he has to prioritize spending time on getting acclimated to this new environment.
John Wall most certainly believes he is still a premier point guard in this league. So for him, whether Harden is present on the Rockets or not, it’s apparent Wall will look to push Houston into a Playoff berth.
